Ruby-The Bee
A little work I did for the Astral Studios. I am responsible for all the elements here. From concept art to modelling, Texturing, Look-Dev and grooming. After a few concepts, this design was approved. Whatever I created, was loved and admired by all.

Modelling
In this project the designs were pretty simple. I didn't feel any challenges in modelling. So I started with the Bee. I had fun modelling the bee. It got ready in a few hours. Later I modelled the jar of honey. For honey I used Bifrost fluid and some animation so that it looks like it spilled. This Project was more about Particles and dynamics than modelling. After that I've started with flower modelling. I've created the dew with the particles and the fur on the bee I used Xgen.

Lighting, Shading and Rendering

After modelling I moved on to Texturing. I Textured the bee in Photoshop and since the bee is covered with the XGen furs, I didn't need the detailed texture. For flowers I used Foundry Mari and for honey and the water dews I simply assigned the Arnold Aisurfaceshader, and after few twitches I was happy with the shaders.
Since this scene required outdoor lighting, I used Arnold Lightdome, with 3 area lights. And for the rendering, I used Arnold renders, with few render passes. |
